Art4Macmillan 2016 is an exclusive fundraising auction in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Set in one of the South West’s most stunning locations, guests can enjoy a special 2-course dining experience together with the chance to bid on a range of elite artworks.

Curated by Macmillan volunteers, Andrew and Jill Corrigan, up to 20 of the region’s pre-eminent artists have been chosen to display their work in the Art4Macmillan auction in the spectacular setting of Bridwell Park, Uffculme.

An Exclusively Perfect Location

BridwellPark

On the evening of October 11th 2016, Lord Ivar Mountbatten will open the doors to his outstanding family home of Bridwell Park, near Uffculme in Devon, to host Art4Macmillan 2016. Primarily a venue used for select weddings and conferences, Bridwell is not normally open to the general public.

But on this special evening, Lord Ivar will be our genial host, welcoming 140 art lovers inside to make Art4Macmillan 2016 a singularly elite event.

Private Viewings

Art4 Macmillan Artworks

With up to 20 artists donating their artworks to the proceedings, including one of Britain’s most distinguished landscape painters, Alan Cotton (SWAc), guests will arrive through the main entrance of Lord Ivar’s Devon home, taking in the exclusive works of art in the beautiful dining room and conservatory.

All the artworks will be prominently displayed, showing the range of techniques and mediums used, from oils and acrylics through to watercolours and mixed media. As well as paintings the event will also feature sculpture. Guests will get the chance to be up close and personal with each piece and see every detail as they pass through the rooms.

Once the artworks have been enjoyed in full, guests will be led into the beautiful and spacious Orangery where the evening’s entertainment will begin. A sumptuous 2-course supper will be enjoyed, after which visitors will be invited to bid on the premier art seen earlier throughout the house.

Hosts Under The Hammer

Getting the event underway will be our compère for the evening, Judi Spiers. She is one of the best known and loved faces and voices of Westcountry television and radio. Renowned for her sharp wit and naturally engaging personality, Judi will guide guests through the evening with her warmth and great sense of humour.

Our special Art4Macmillan auctioneer will be Graham Barton. Best known for his trademark striped jackets and unique style on BBC One’s ‘Homes Under The Hammer’, Graham will draw on his knowledge as a professional property auctioneer in Devon, together with his vast experience of charity auction events.

Graham will be keeping everyone on their toes over the course of the evening, injecting some fast-paced fun into the proceedings, while esteemed fine art auctioneers, Lawrences of Crewkerne will be taking care of the lots and the final bids.

With many of the Art4Macmillan artists hoping to attend on the night, guests will also have the opportunity to meet and greet them and find out more about the art they’ll be bidding on. All in all, Art4Macmillan 2016 promises to be an evening of fine art filled fun in aid of a very worthy cause.
