Devon Pixels, a local digital marketing agency in North Devon, is proud to announce its sponsorship of North Devon Hospice’s Rugby Ramble. The event is a sponsored walk along the scenic Tarka Trail, designed to raise awareness for men’s mental health and to support the North Devon Hospice.
Men’s Mental Health: A Critical Issue in North Devon
Men in North Devon are 50% less likely to access emotional support from the North Devon Hospice, which is a worrying statistic. Many men in the region are facing life-changing situations, such as terminal diagnoses, caring for a loved one at the end of their life, or grieving the loss of a family member. Emotional support is essential in helping men deal with these challenges, but often men are reluctant to seek help.
The Rugby Ramble: An Opportunity to Support Men in Need
The Rugby Ramble is an 11-mile walk along the Tarka Trail, starting from either Bideford Rugby Club to Barnstaple Rugby Club, or vice versa. Participants can also choose a shorter, 4-mile option from Fremington Quay to Barnstaple Rugby Club. The event is set for Saturday, March 18, 2023, with a start time of 12:00 pm and a finish time of 7:00 pm.
Participants in the Rugby Ramble will be treated to a free hot pasty at the start of the walk and a free pint at a designated beer stop on the route. Another free pint will be given at the finish line, followed by delicious hot food available to purchase at the clubhouse. Participants can also watch the England v Ireland Six Nations game at 5.00 pm.
