Devon Training’s main priorities are giving people the skills they need in a fun and friendly environment, be it on a Powerboat level 2 course, Lifeguard training or beach lifeguard course, a First Aid course, Outdoor First Aid course or learning basic CPR skills.
We make sure that the courses are realistically priced and we try to make them fun. We understand that death by powerpoint doesn’t help most of our clients learn.
As a local company we cater for local people as well as business, teaching first aid at work as well as the more leisure based courses. Our First Aid courses, lifeguard courses and powerboat courses are all regulated through National Awarding Bodies. This means you can be assured of the standard.
People from around the UK come to us to gain essential or leisure based qualifications. After all, only Devon can provide the spectacular backdrop needed to create the perfect Powerboat Course.
Our team teach to the highest accredited standards and have performed the skills they teach; be it as a Beach lifeguard or during Endurance RIB operations or for Emergency Services.

Andy Phillips has been performing and teaching first aid, beach lifeguarding and powerboat use for nearly thirty years. He has taught lifeguards for local authorities within Devon as well as being the Beach Safety Officer for East Devon District Council. Andy has not only taught skills in this Country and abroad but has performed them in such events as the ‘Round Ireland RIB Endurance Challenge’, ‘1500 mile RIB circumnavigation of Britain’ and also the ‘Round Scotland RIB Endurance Challenge’
